But Portlanders do their thing and walk outdoors. No mall walking for us.
So, when the sun comes out, as it did today and the sky is blue, walking in Portland goes to a different level.
I am a 71 year old woman, who never seriously walked until last year, when I joined a team of 12 younger women and walked the Portland to Coast Relay race and was able to get my time down to about a fourteen and half minute mile.
I started my walk this morning in our hilly neighborhood and the beauty of early spring came alive in the rare sun. It made my heart and voice sing. The crocus, camellias, and early daffodils dazzled me with their return.
Forget the politics, the constant bad news in the world. Sometimes all is right with the world. The perfect morning walk!
